About Molo Me

Molo Me was established in 2016. After working for a few years in various sectors of the jewellery industry I decided to live out my lifelong passion for art and craft and started creating.

My name is Monika, a London-based jeweller, designer and gemmologist. Since I remember I have been trying to learn as much as possible about all things jewellery.

My fascination with old and new jewellery-making techniques, metalworking, and small-scale engineering has led me to acquire numerous skills and confidently apply them to my designs. In while becoming a GIA Graduate Gemmologist has given me the necessary expertise in the buying of gemstones, and antique and vintage jewellery.

As I am fascinated by many styles and eras from ancient times to the modern age jewels I do not create in one particular style. The way I make a piece of jewellery is by looking at the materials in front of me and deciding what is the best approach.

There are a few things however that are important to me in jewellery:

COLOUR

Colour is important for us humans - it brings joy, signifies abundance and energy - the markers of happiness! It's associated with summer - thanks to the burst of colours we witness during warm months, however, I firmly believe that colour should be worn throughout the year so that we can benefit from the energy it gives!

FAMILY, COMMUNITY and LOVE

There is nothing more important in this life than people close to you - your friends, your community, your surroundings - jewellery has for a long time helped to celebrate those connections. The wonderful rings we have from our beloved grandmothers or the beaten-up St. Christopher's from our grandfathers - are the most cherished items we have to remind us about them. They are part of our family's story, timeless and past the fashion foibles. I create Molo Me pieces to become exactly that - lasting reminders of our favourite people!

NATURE

It gives and it gives and wants so little in return. Molo Me is a green company - we recycle, reuse and use sustainable materials - work with mother nature not against it. Wherever possible I use Single Mine Origin or recycled gold, ethically mined gemstones or ones salvaged from old jewellery. The packaging is made by hand in my studio - I use leather offcuts as well handcrafted paper from bookbinding industry rejects. I reuse envelopes, ribbons and other packaging avoiding any single-use plastic.
