New oval brilliant cut tanzanite set in an 9ct yellow gold antique trilogy ringSourcing new stone - tanzanite - for antique ring

New tanzanite in an antique gold setting.

A customer came to me with an opal cabochon that fell out of this antique ring, hoping it can be set again. Unfortunately, the opal was not the original stone - the central setting was made for a brilliant cut stone with a pavillion. Cabochons have a flat base and need an entirely different setting - the reason the opal kept falling out. My advice was to source another stone and leave the opal for another project. The customer decided to go for an amazing colour clash combination and chose light violet tanzanite.
