Edwardian Gold and Diamond Drop Earrings

Antique remodelled drop earrings from the Edwardian period. The earrings have beautiful rope scrolls adorning the sides along with gold beads detail. The old screw-on fitting was changed for a simple hook for ease of wear and security - they come with 9ct gold butterflies. The front still retains the rich buttery gold of mercury gilding (a jewellery technique that leaves a layer of a pure gold matte finish) a sought-after characteristic that is too often polished off!
