Victorian Diamond Monogram Pendant

Attractive, gold and silver pendant with rose-cut diamonds that form the word 'Remember' in Urdu. The Victorian 9ct frame is not an original setting for the coin/token which in all probability was to be a stand-alone piece. The frame can be removed, by opening the jump ring. The silver and diamond inscription is missing three diamonds but is in overall amazing condition. The provenance of this piece is unknown.

For those appreciative of technical information, the coin/token has been tested and is an unusual gold alloy (the flat, yellow gold part) containing 69% of gold (placing it below 18ct by about 6% - 18ct is equal to 75% of gold of the total weight). The diamond-silver word construction is also an unusual alloy - it contains mostly silver and 27% of gold.

My conclusion is the coin, not just the frame, is an antique artefact - most antique pieces would not be able to pass today's strict gold content laws as they have been made without precise equipment resulting in under-the-carat gold content. Similarly the fact that the silver and diamond inscription contains gold is unheard of in modern times.
