Vintage Jade Chinese Hololith Bangle

Hololith means from 'a single stone' - a piece of jewellery carved from a single gemstone without any assembly. The most valued pieces of jewellery in Chinese tradition - jade bangles gifted to children for luck and prosperity to see them on their journey into adulthood. They require a huge sacrifice of a valuable material to create a single piece. This untreated piece of jade come with its original box. The bangle is semi-translucent and has some attractive colour variation. There is a small grooved line along one of its sides - probably a production step that was never polished away (pictured). 

This bangle makes the most delicious metallic sound when in contact with other items!

Measurements: 6cm inner diameter, the bangle should fit a hand 7 inches around the basal knuckle of the hand (excluding the thumb).
